Colloquia are held every five to ten years depending on the milestones achieved within a time frame. The Institute of Medical Research has hosted three colloquia in the last decade; the Forty years Colloquium in 2008; the Pneumonia Colloquium in 2010 and the Malaria Colloquium in 2016.
Every colloquium provided an opportunity for past and current researchers and collaborators to share insights on their work. It is also an opportunity for scientists to share their experience working in Papua New Guinea and the challenges they face —all for a common cause.
The Fifty years Colloquium that will be held in August this year, 2018, will be a reflection of the past successes, the challenges and the goals for the future.
